If they don’t know your dreams, then they can’t shoot em down.- J.Cole

The Bar

This bar comes from arguably J cole’s best mixtape, “Friday Night Lights”. On “Too deep for the Intro”, Cole samples Erykah Badu’s “Didn’t Cha Know” beautifully. He takes the opportunity on this track to rap about topics such as domestic violence and how it affects the youth later in their life, education, and losing his virginity. This track is definitely nothing but the truth.

The Life

If they don’t know your dreams, they can’t shoot them down.  This bar is filled with a ton of substance. It carries weight that everyone can use in their daily life. Have you ever had a dream that you whole heartedly believed in? A dream that would be fulfilling and give you everything you ever wanted? You believe in it so much that you take the idea to your close friends and family to get their advice. You share this info because they mean a lot to you but the reaction you get is not what you expected. “You sure you want to do that”? “What if it doesn’t work”? “You really want to waste your life on that”? Sometimes discouragement comes from the people closes to us. Because of this, sometimes its best to just “shut up and grind”. Everybody won’t believe in your dreams, but what matters the most is that you are passionate about and believe whole heartedly that it will make you happy. Stop talking and get busy.
